A Starbucks (39th street and 8th ave) (3.00/5)

600 8th Ave, New York, NY 10018

This bathroom is in generally poor condition considering the usual Starbucks standards. There may not be toilet paper depending on the time of day. The plus sides are a prime location that is just enough out of the way as to minimize the line to get in to the bathroom.

B Five Guys (West Village) (4.00/5)

496 LaGuardia Pl, New York, NY 10012

Walk in with purpose and head straight back towards the counter. The bathroom is in the back left corner of the establishment and so far has been unlocked all the time. Don't hesitate to buy a burger while you're there because they have some of the best.

C John Jay College Barnes & Noble Bookstore? (4.00/5)

834 10th Ave?, New York, NY 10019

Ask for the bathroom key at the front desk. The bathroom is straight back towards the textbook section. It helps to learn criminal justice terminology like 'perp' before you enter — it will help you masquerade as a John Jay student and not arouse suspicion.

D Waterfront Ale House (2.67/5)

540 2nd Avenue, New York, NY 10016

Features a single urinal and single toilet. Bathroom was really small and had terrible ventilation. But traffic seemed really low. When you walk in the front door, make your way towards the back and choose the right corner and go down the stairs. You have to walk through the entire restaurant + bar to get there, so you might be a little embarrassed. On an unrelated note, this place is TERRIBLE. Their service is absurd (30 minute wait between beers), their food is shit, and the atmosphere is about as charming as TGI Fridays...in West Virgina.

E Guitar Center (14th st) (4.00/5)

25 W. 14th Street, New York, NY 10011

Hidden away in the basement of Guitar Center, this little known spot is a musician's public bathroom utopia. It features a well scrubbed decor, 1 stall, 1 urinal, sink, mirror, and very low foot traffic. You don't have to ask for permission to use it, but probably won't be able to find it unless you do (which boosts it's privacy rating). It's also far enough from the sales floor that if you drop some serious heat, you won't have to do the walk of shame.

F Starbucks (10th street and 2nd ave) (1.33/5)

145 2nd Avenue, New York, NY 10003

Like almost every other Starbucks bathroom, exercise extreme hover.
